To develop the best possible grip for you. Every golfer swings and grips the club differently. Over 90 percent of golfers use the Vardon or overlapping grip. Players with smaller hands sometimes find the interlocking grip, with the little finger of the right hand interlocked with the index finger of the left hand, works best for them. Players with smaller should use a baseball type grip.

Many swing faults occur from an improper setup. This can cause unnecessary adjustments during the swing. Taking care to position the ball, feet, hips and shoulders properly ensures building a good swing foundation. Testing has shown golfers with open stances show no more tendency to slice than golfers with closed stances. The open stance may give the golfers a little more opportunity to slice, because it allows a little more freedom in the downswing and follow-though. The square stance is used by most successful golfers. Beginners should start with a square stance. As you advance, you can experiment with the advantages of other stances. Avoid extreme stances. Experiment to find the stance that works best for you. Take care to set up consistently on all normal shots.

Iron Game Tip
A very important factor in striking the ball solidly and consistently with your irons is getting the "bottom" of your swing in front of the ball (i.e., the lowest spot in the swing's arc on the target side of the ball). Divot diagram This promotes contacting the ball before the ground (this is a good idea). You can develop a feel for this by scratching a line on the ground with a tee, or making a row of tees spaced about 6 inches apart, perpendicular to your target line. Straddle the line and take divots until you consistently make the divots in front of (toward the target from) the line, or row of tees. You can certainly hit balls this way too -- with the balls on the line or between each of the tees. Once you can do this you'll hit your iron shots much more solidly and with more control.

Titanium Fairway Woods
A golf tip for a golfer that plans to regrip his clubs: Be cautious. This is because the grips are the only contact points one can access to affect the shot. Before carrying out the regripping, know the core grip of the club and your hands grip size. To determine your core size grip, measure the diameter of the butt of the shaft you're going to re-grip. The shaft's diameter should match the grip's core diameter. In determining your hands grip, the available size grips are regular, mid-size, oversize and jumbo. Use only the best re-gripping materials that will provide optimum performance for your golf clubs.

Chip and Pitch Shots - Valuable Considerations
By: Verlyn Ross
In golf, chip and pitch shots are all about making crisp contact with the ball first and you do this by hitting positively down into the back of the ball. If the players you played with had said, "nice pitch" when you really chipped, then they are just referring it to as a good shot without noticing the difference between chip and pitch.
In other words, great recovery shots are the result of well-made chip and pitch hits. If you want to succeed at learning to play golf and becoming a better player, it is essential that you increangly hone your skills in doing chip and pitch shots. In order to play a successful hole, or to make up for poor driving or long iron play, you must be able to chip and pitch the ball well.
The Important Recognition
You need to recognize that most golfers will spend 90% of their time making shots that are far from being on-target and that then lead to recovery shots.
In order to score well you must learn to recover from these off-target shots. In other words, great recovery shots are the result of well executed chip and pitch hits.
No matter how accurate and how well you are able to perform from the tee, without developing expertise at your short game, you will not be able to enjoy the exuberance that comes from lowering your scores. Remember that your short game is what matters most. By executing a great chip or pitch, you bay be able to tower over the scoring zone (that 6' circle around the hole).
Is It a Chip or a Pitch
When playing golf, no game is the same, and you may not always hit the ball onto the green with the standard amount of shots taken. Many times your ball will land somewhere within the range of a short iron shot from the green. This is when you have to decide if it is best to do a chip, or is the pitch the right choice. Sometimes the decision is not clear-cut.
The Chip Shot: A chip shot is made when your ball lands within 5 to 10 feet from the putting surface. Said another way, it is simply any shot that you make which is close to the green. Your goal when making a chip shot is simply to lag the ball just as close to the hole as possible in order that you have a very easy putt.
The Pitch Shot: A pitch shot is made when the ball lands further from the green. Although the chip and the pitch are hit from different distances, the objective is the same. You want your pitch shot to end just as close to the hole as possible.
Conclusion:
Chip and pitch shots make up the crux of the short game. If you want to succeed at learning to play golf and becoming a better player, it is essential that you learn how to chip and pitch great shots. In other words, great recovery shots are the result of well-made chip and pitch hits. In order to play a successful hole, or to make up for poor driving or long iron play, you must be able to chip and pitch the ball well.
A great deal of success is in your frame of mind, In other words, deeply believe that you have the creativity, courage, and concentration to chip and pitch well. This is a big step toward your success.

Tips On Golf
The Grain affects the roll! Grain is mostly seen on the fringe of the green. Putts with grain roll faster and farther, against the grain slower and not so far. Check from both sides of your ball as well as behind the ball when lining up. The appearance of the grass shows the grain. If it looks shiny the grain is away from you. If dull, the grain is towards you.

Come to the Golf Course with Strategy in the Bag
Every good golfer knows that golf is not all about mechanics. There is a strategy to playing the game, and the golfer who develops the best strategy has a much better chance of coming out on top. There are ways to prepare yourself before you get to the courseand ways to react to conditions within a roundthat will save you trouble and give you an advantage most golfers fail to seize.

Hitting behind the ball or too high on the ball.
This is often caused by swaying during the swing. Any side-to-side or up and down head movement should be avoided. To get the right feel, hit some practice shots with feet together. During your weight shift, concentrate on keeping the weight On your right foot on the inside of your foot. Check your progress by taking practice swings with sun behind you and watching your shadow. Don't let the clubface get ahead of your hands at impact. To avoid hitting chips and pitches fat: Don't sole the club at address. Use an open, narrow stance. Keep arms connected to chest and rotate body rather than sliding hips laterally and jabbing at the ball with your hands. Focus eyes on front of ball, with weight on front foot and wrists ahead of ball at address and through impact. Be sure to make a complete follow-through.
